HeartBeat

Privacy

HeartBeat doesn't collect anything about you. Here's the whole story.

No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. The app has no sign-in, sends nothing to me or to anyone else, and contains no analytics or advertising code. There is no server behind it.

Your projects stay yours. Projects, samples, presets and controller bindings are files on your device, in a folder you can see in the Files app. If you turn on iCloud Drive, that folder syncs through your own iCloud account under Apple's terms, and I never see it.

What the app asks permission for, and why. The microphone, so you can sample from the mic or an audio interface. Bluetooth, so you can connect Bluetooth MIDI keyboards and controllers. The local network, so you can sync with Ableton Link and use network MIDI. Each of these is used only for the thing it says, only while you use that feature, and the audio or MIDI involved never leaves your device.

Third parties. Ableton Link discovers other apps on your local network to share tempo with them; that traffic stays on your network. Audio Unit plugins you host are other developers' software and have their own policies.

If anything here changes, this page will say so, and the date below will move.
